Oli Blakeway - Videographer and Filmmaker
I've always been obsessed with two things, taking photos and lights. This teenage passion for photography naturally developed into shooting "cinematic videos" and there came the obvious career choice... cinematography.
Quickly, I started specialising in this field whilst studying Film Production at the University of Winchester - working exclusively within roles surrounding camera and lighting on as many projects as I could; before graduating with a First Class Honours Degree.
Here I developed my emotional cognition and storytelling skills to put to use my technical ability. This mixture of technical understanding and vision has allowed me to extensively stylise projects yet harness real emotions within films that I have shot as DoP.
Now, I'm working as a freelance videographer and filmmaker, shooting passion projects among days on corporate shoots across the South and working as a Camera Assistant or Gaffer on commercial shoots.
I'm located in the South East of the UK in Tonbridge, less than an hour away Central London but am happy to travel as far as necessary!
